The HST - What you need to know - what's going up

The McGuinty government is always talking about the fact that 83% of the items that we purchase everyday won't increase in price as a result of the HST. I'd like to point your attention to the other 17% of items that will increase as a result of the HST. These items include necessities such as heat & hydro, gasoline for your car and internet access.

The enclosed chart is taken from the Ministry of Finance's website at http://www.rev.gov.on.ca/en/taxchange/taxable.html.

Auditors’ report on the P3 hospitals released - OHC vindicated

I would also like to direct your attention to the Ontario Health Coalition’s web site specially the media release detailing the auditors’ report on the P3 hospitals. After 7 years of hard work by the OHC and it’s members this report says exactly what everyone expected, that P3’s are signifantly more expensive than a publicly funded hosipital. The bottom line: They cost more and deliver less.
