Responsibilities for members of the riding executive

There are 8 positions on the riding executive and we can have several members at large as well. If you would like additional information on the responsibilities of the executive or are interested in running for a position, please leave feedback. Members of the riding executive: President – is responsible for chairing Executive meetings and representing the Association to the community at large. During an election period, in charge of both the candidate search & election planning committees. Vice President – is responsible for assisting the President and for taking over the duties of the President, in her/his absence. Secretary – is responsible for maintaining the correspondence of the Association, and for taking minutes at meetings. Treasurer – acts as the financial officer of the Association and is in charge of the financial records, including submitting a financial report to the Association at the AGM. Membership Co-ordinator – keeps the Association’s membership lists, registers members at meetings for and works on increasing the membership of the NDP. Youth Representative – helps increase youth’s involvement in the party via ONDY and NDYC. Note that persons wishing to run for this position must be age 25 or under. Women’s Representative – works to ensure that women have involvement with all levels of the NDP. Woks with the ONDP Women’s Committee, Participation of Wom¬en committee, and other women’s organiza¬tions. *persons wishing to run for this posi¬tion must identify as women. Member at Large – take on any task as necessary and assist with the operations of the Executive.
